Yon Shreeve, 80, of Topeka, passed away on April 20, 2024 at home surrounded by her beloved family.
She was born on May 1, 1943 to Haksoo Yu and Ilnam Han in Seoul, South Korea.
Yon loved her family, her flowers, and working in her yard. She was very athletic and into martial arts. If she wasn’t cleaning or working in her yard she was watching her daytime soap operas and game shows such as Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. Yon was a bingo fanatic and would oftentimes hold up the line at the gas station to redeem her lottery scratch tickets.
On May 17th, 1966, she married John Shreeve in Seoul, South Korea. Yon and John met while he was in the Navy and lived in several different countries before settling in Topeka, KS.
Yon is survived by her son; Kenneth (Shannon) Shreeve, daughters, Kim (Scott) Harris, Tina (Christopher Mumford) Shreeve, Alisa (Michael) Rivera, and six grandchildren. Yon also has 13 great-grandkids and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband John Arthur Shreeve.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, 11:00 am at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel, visitation will be from 10:00 am, until 11:00 am, with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
