Winifred M. "Winnie" Wise, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Midland Hospice.
Winnie was born November 30, 1916 in Washington County, the youngest daughter of Jacob and Ida Donovan Walters.
She worked for the Kansas State Highway Department, retiring after 31 years of dedicated service in 1982.
Winnie married Glen R. Wise on February 5, 1942 in Labette. He died February 18, 1973. Survivors include a sister, Mary Stoll, Fairbury, NE; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Clarinda City Cemetery, Clarinda, IA. Mrs. Wise will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
