Winifred Maxine "Winnie" Sutton, 83, of Topeka died Sunday Jan. 25, 2004 at Rolling Hills Retirement Community in Topeka.
She was born January 27, 1920, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles Reiff and Viola Maude Carter and was a lifelong Topeka resident.
She worked from Oct. 1956 to Jan. 1985 for Sears Roebuck Co. with 29 year's service.
She married James A. Long on November 22, 1941. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1982. She married Richard A. Sutton on January 27, 1985 in Topeka.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by her husband, Dick; a sister Marjorie Sisson, Hurst, Texas; a daughter Darlene Gibson, Topeka; two stepdaughters, Sonia Small, Lincoln, Nebraska; Cynthia Roland, Marysville; one stepson, Richard H. Sutton, Blue Springs, Nebraska; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Sutton will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 (Noon).
Funeral and graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28 in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until service time.
