Wilma "Billie" Stitt, 67, of Topeka, passed away, Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born September 1, 1939 in Globe, KS the daughter of Charles and Alberta Bright. She attended Topeka schools graduating from Topeka High School in 1957.
Billie worked as a secretary for the Santa Fe Railroad until retirement and then was employed by Carpenter Chartered Law Offices for the remainder of her career.
She was an active member of Brookwood Covenant Church.
She married Sam Stitt March 6, 1965. He survives. Other survivors include their son, Rod Stitt (Jennifer), Overland Park, KS; her sister, Becky Gerety, Topeka, KS; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Brookwood Covenant Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Billie will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. this evening.
