Wilma Ruth Mullin Eliot, 100, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Ruth was born March 10, 1912, in Edgerton, KS, daughter of Julius Boyd and Myrtle Ivy (Williams) Sumner. She married Ernest Enos Mullin on October 6, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1972. Later, Ruth married Alfred Gordon Eliot on January 27, 1982. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1989.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Dick) Reinking, Overland Park, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Mullin, Topeka, grandchildren, Jerry Shafer, Laura (Raymond) Boos, Kelly (Thane) Stauffer, Carey (Julie) Mullin, and Angie Reinking, ten great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, sister, Lois Hale, San Diego, CA, four nieces, and five nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by parents, two husbands, two sons, Ernest Enos "Bud" Mullin, Jr. and David Earl Mullin, and three sisters, Verna Mae Annis, Nancy Stauffer, and Dora Price.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012, at First Lutheran Church, Topeka. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Ruth will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20th, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels, 2701 SW East Circle Drive South, Suite 2, Topeka, Kansas 66606, or First Lutheran Church, 1234 Fairlawn Road, Topeka, KS 66604.
