Wilma Norwood, 91, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at a local care center.
Wilma was born August 30, 1920 in Topeka, the daughter of William and Orpha (Gibbens) Allen. She attended Topeka Public Schools.
She worked for American Airlines in Tulsa, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Topeka.
Wilma married Lawrence Brown in Topeka. He died in 1968. She later married Ted Norwood in Tulsa, OK. He died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Lenard. Survivors include two sons; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Mount Hope Cemetery. Wilma will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
