Wilma Virginia Moege, 87, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 20, 2005, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
She was born September 17, 1917, at Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Lee and Myrtie Barnett Lane and graduated from Topeka High School in 1936. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and enjoyed friends and playing golf and bridge at Shawnee Country Club, where she and her husband were members for 50 years. From 1937-1945 she worked with her husband and mother-in-law in the Moege IGA Store in Topeka. She also enjoyed participating in activities at the church.
She married Cedric Carl Moege on June 20, 1937 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include one son, Lee Robert Moege and his wife Sally of Holton, Kansas, two daughters, Alicia Jane Donnelly and her husband Patrick of Topeka, and Virginia (Ginger) Maxine Chang and her husband Ruu of Wakarusa, her sister, Louise Laubach of Overland Park, Kansas, four grandchildren - Elizabeth, Kevin, Logan and Andrew, and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alma LaCroix and granddaughter Nancy Jane Moege Zeller.
Services will be Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. She will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka, from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Monday and one hour before services at the church.
