Wilma (Busby) Lewis, 97, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019.
She was born May 9, 1921, in Bogard, Missouri, the daughter of Estle and Monta (Shirley) Busby.
Wilma married Carl Lewis on April 24, 1943 in Bogard, MO. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1991.
Wilma and her husband Carl owned a furniture store in Topeka, she helped with the bookkeeping.
Wilma was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas and most recently the First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka.
She loved to cook and was a wonderful baker. Wilma never said an unkind word. Two words used to describe Wilma are sweet and amazing.
Survivors include sons, Dick (Linda) Lewis; Tom (Brenda) Lewis, Harry (Tammy) Lewis, grandchildren, Michelle (Pat) D'Agostino, Todd Lewis, Corrie (Scott) Irwin, Kelli (Terry) Schmidt, Kris (Tim) Gerhardt, Tim (Roxanne) Watts, Christopher Lewis, 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Geraldine Geest, brother, Russell Busby.
A Funeral Ceremony will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Private burial will be later at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
