William T. "Bill" Slider, 72, West River, MD, born to Charles and Beulah Slider, December 14, 1944, in Lyons, Kansas, died August 4, 2017, in Annapolis, MD area hospice.
He was a graduate of Lyons High School where he held lead parts in plays, played drums in a dance band, and edited the high school newspaper.
He graduated from the University of Kansas where he was a Delta Chi.
He was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp serving in Viet Nam engaged in battle at Da Nang, Hue, and Khe Sanh receiving the Navy Commendation Medal of Valor for "meritorious service."
He was a Capitol Hill lobbyist 40 years serving the National Homebuilding Association, the National Association of Realtors, and Housing and Urban Development retiring in 2012.
Survivors include siblings Patricia, Sandra, and Michael (Robin), four nephews, and a great nephew and niece.
A graveside service is pending at the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas.
