William T. "Bill" Shaw, Jr., 90, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023. He was born July 30, 1933 in Missouri, the son of William T. Shaw, Sr. and Ruby (Majors) Shaw.
He is survived by his daughter, LeAnn (Chris) Hubbell of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Isabella Hubbell of Topeka, KS; and many, much-loved, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Lida L. Shaw; brothers, Charles E. Shaw and Robert Dale Shaw; and sister-in-law, Loeva Shaw.
Bill graduated from Osage City High School in Osage City, KS in 1951. He served in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman from the mid to late 1950's. He retired in 1999 from a long career as President at the Credit Bureau of Topeka in Topeka, KS.
Bill was an active member of the Topeka community, dedicating more than 20 years of service to numerous organizations. Especially notable are his years of service to the Optimist Club of Topeka; the Topeka Sunflower Chapter of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women; and the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was much loved by family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service for Bill will be held on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, KS, 3616 SW 6th Ave.
