William "Bill" Leroy Albott, 73, Topeka, died in his home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. He was born July 6, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of William and Lillian (Humphreys) Albott. He graduated from Beloit High School then went on to earn a Masters degree from Fort Hays State University and a dual PhD in Clinical Psychology and Research from Ohio University. He served as head of Education and Research at Topeka State Hospital then moved on to clinical practice as well as forensic consultation.
Survivors include two daughters, Cristina Sophia Albott, MD, and Andreana K. Albott; grandchildren Paloma L. Dashevsky and Gianluca Albott; former wife and friend Carolyn Ramirez Albott; and son-in-law Misha Dashevsky.
Bill will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and grandfather, talented psychotherapist, published researcher, humorist, champion of social consciousness, generous listener, language enthusiast, world traveler, speed-reader, skeptic and rebel. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
