William L. Record

William L. "Bill" Record, 75, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.

Bill was born May 2, 1933 in Texas, the son of Roy and Rosie (Vandagriff) Record.

He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War.

He was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for 12 years and also was a self employed roofer. He trained horses and dogs and raised registered Pointers.

He was a member of Central Church of Christ.

Bill married Patsy Braden in 1955. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Sherry Record, Topeka; son, Randy Patterson, Meriden; grandson, Shane Patterson, Clinton, MO; three great-grandchildren; mother, Rosie Record, Melissa, TX; brothers, Alfred, Harold, Bobby; and sister, Clara Yandell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Central Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Bill will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 3:00 p.m. today.
