William J. Troupe

William J. Troupe, 82, Topeka, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of William and Josephine Devero Troupe. He graduated from Wyandotte High School and from Rockhurst College, Kansas City, Mo. He served as a Lt JG in the US Navy from July 10, 1942 to May 16, 1946. He married Harriet Collins on July 1, 1944 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mr. Troupe was a partner in the accounting firm of Troupe, Kehoe, Whiteaker & Kent for over 30 years before retiring. He and Harriet lived in Tucson, Arizona from 1979 to 1999.

He was formerly a member of St Ann's Catholic Church, Prairie Village, Ks., St Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Tucson, AZ ,,and currently was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Topeka. He was a member and past president of Milburn Country Club, Overland Park, member of Indian Hills Country Club, Prairie Village, the Kansas City Club and 822 Club, Wolf Creek Golf Club, and Tucson National Golf Club. He was also a member of the Arizona, Kansas and Missouri Boards of Accountancy.

He was preceded in death by Harriet on Aug. 3, 1999, an infant daughter, Mary Troupe, and a daughter, Susan Troupe on May 5, 2000.

He is survived by three daughters, Cathy Lank and husband Lloyd of Overland Park, KS, Bobbie Jo Hilton and husband Steven of Lee's Summit, MO, Janet Michel and husband Mike of Topeka; six grandchildren, Emile and Joanna Hilton, and Erin, Adam, Cooper, and Libby Michel; sister, Mary Huddlestun of Prairie Village, KS; brother, Bob Troupe, Morgan Hill, CA.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the care given by Dr. Scott Solcher and the staff of Kansas Dialysis Service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary School, 1750 SW Stone, Topeka, KS 66604.
