William J. Sims
William Joseph "Bill" Sims, 80, Harrisonville, MO, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Harrisonville.
Bill was born May 13, 1931 in Chicago, the son of Willard and Alfreda Sims. He graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
While living in Illinois he was a Chicago Fireman and a carpenter. He was of the Catholic faith.
Bill married Janis Haggin on January 15, 1955. She died June 11, 2010.
Survivors include children, Bill Sims, Indiana, Lynda (Don) Denton, Tecumseh, KS, Bob (Chrystena) Sims, Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Don, Bill, Dan, Mike; and brothers, Jack Sims, Frank Sims, Richard Sims. He was also preceded in death by brother, George Sims.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
