William Hendryx, Jr.

William N. "Bill" Hendryx, Jr., 89, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2007.

Bill was born on June 6, 1918, the son of William and Jean (Rea) Hendryx in Baxter Springs, Kansas.

He was a graduate of Arkansas City High School and Arkansas City Junior College. He was employed as the Chief Engineer for San Ore, and Shears Construction Company. He also served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during WW II. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch and Commandary, Isis Shrine, American Legion, Moose Lodge and the United Presbyterian Church.

Bill married Jeanne Bellamy on Christmas Day, 1939. During their marriage they lived in Scottsdale, AZ; Hutchinson, KS; McPherson, KS; and settled in Topeka in 1997, presently residing at Brewster Place. They had one daughter, Linda, who passed away in 2006.

Bill is survived by their son-in-law, Roger Lovett, Topeka, two great grandsons, Nathan and Andrew Lovett, Bellevue, WA. Bill and Jeanne have one grandson, Dr. Brent Lovett, Naples, FL; and one great granddaughter, Audrey Lovett, Overland Park, KS.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Michael Lovett.

Cremation is planned. No services will be held.
