William Edward Gatchell

William Edward "Bill" Gatchell, 66, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
He was born September 19, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Edward and Esther (Gilbert) Gatchell. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1973 KAW Area Vocational Technical School with a certificate in drafting.
Bill owned and operated Gatchell Remodeling. He did remodeling and property management until retiring in 2013.
On February 16, 1986, he married Lori Christensen in Overbrook, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Jake (Shannon) Gatchell and Jacy (Derek) Honeyman; four grandchildren, Ciara, Kase, Kashton, and Payden Honeyman; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill enjoyed golfing, playing poker, and western TV shows and movies. He also enjoyed live music, especially Bop Daddies and loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities.
Visitation will be 1-3 Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11am Monday, August 29, 2022 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Topeka Cemetery.
