William E. "Bill" Blodgett, 92, Topeka, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015.
Bill was born June 8, 1923 in Fairview, MO, the son of Elmo F. and Margaret (Wogoman) Blodgett. He graduated from Winfield, Kansas High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart.
He was an auto parts clerk at 5 Chevrolet Dealerships in Topeka, retiring in 1985 after 38 years of employment.
He was a member of the American Legion Capitol Post #1 and the D.A.V.
William married Mildred Rogers on February 22, 1948 in Topeka. His wife of 67 years survives. Other survivors include their children, Connie Asselin, Topeka, Sandra Jaynes, Lawrence, Gary Blodgett, Topeka, Marcia (Ray) Peak, Topeka; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
