William Warren Bowman, 74, of Hutchinson, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008 at his home in Springfield, MO. He was born on April 23, 1934 in Great Bend, the son of James and Myrtle Seaman Bowman. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1952 and Garden City Junior College in 1954. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He installed telephones and was a switchboard operator for the United Nations Military Armistice Commission. Warren attended Oklahoma State Tech where he obtained a degree in Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration. He was employed by Dillons where he installed refrigeration equipment for 25 years before retiring in 1986. Warren married Carolyn Bocook on November 11, 1967 in Hutchinson. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James D. Bowman. Survivors include one brother, Charles T. (Mattie) Bowman of Hutchinson, three nieces and one nephew. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Matfield Green Cemetery, Matfield Green, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67211. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
