Mr. William Adrian Richel, 93, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 in his daughter's home in Texas. He was born on Oct. 12. 1910 in Rosemont, KS to Earl E. and Alice Moore Richel.
Adrian graduated from Emporia State Teacher's College in 1932 with a BS in Commerce and in 1933 with a degree in Education.
On Sept. 29, 1934 he married Esther Lillian Mills, she passed away in 1991.
Mr. Richel moved to Topeka in 1942 and formed Paxson and Richel, C.P.A. firm. He was commissioned in United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre from 1944 to 1946. Adrian was a member of Central Congregational Church and the past president of Kansas Society of Certified Public Accounts. A member of Lions Club for over 50 years.
Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Poort and her husband Ed of Topeka; Linda Fritsch and her husband Ron of Highland Village, TX. Two grandchildren, Bryan Poort and his wife Jan of Topeka and Kristine Whitfield and her husband James of Orlando, FL., there are also two great granddaughters, Emma and Morgan.
Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at 11:00 am in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Entombment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
