William A. Way
William "Art" Arthur Way, 90, a resident of Paxico, Kansas, since 2002, died Thursday, January 14, 2010, at the Colmery O'Neil V.A. Medical Center, in Topeka, Kansas.
Art was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Elmer Hiram Way and Della Gowen Way, on March 25, 1919. He was the third of six brothers, Luther Way, Boyd Way, Willard Way, Everett Way, and Lester Way, all proceeded him in death. On December 22, 1947, Art married Ethel Earl Schaaf, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ethel proceeded him in death July, 17, 1988. Their son Franklin Elmer Way and his wife Patti proceeded Art in death in 2006.
Art was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps as a Tech Sergeant and flew over France. He and Ethel worked and owned small businesses in Lincoln and Ashland, Nebraska.
Art is survived by his daughter, Lynn Cox and her husband Ron of Wamego, Kansas. Grandchildren, Crystal McWilliams and husband Michael, their children, Mya, Mitchell and Alexandra of Martinsburg, West Virginia, John Cox of Casper, Wyoming, Shylee Cox and her daughter Twyla, of Wamego, Sam Cox of Manhattan, Kansas, Robert Way and wife Maia, their children Alexander and Mariana, of Houston, Texas, granddaughter Leslie Way of Houston, Texas.
Family and graveside memorial will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska at a later date.
