William A. Hansford

William A. "Bill" Hansford, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Midland Hospice House. He was born September 21, 1922 in Silver Lake, KS, to Mr. and Mrs. Eri Hansford, Jr. He married his wife, Juanita (Hipsher) on April 8, 1945 in Topeka. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in 2010.

Bill worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 22 years. He and his wife also owned Capital Ceramics. Upon their retirement, they moved to Fort Myers, FL for 20 years before returning to Topeka in April 2008.

Bill is survived by his wife, Juanita of the home; daughter, Linda Baldyga (Bob) of Sardis, TN, sons, Steven (Vickie), Darrel (Lisa) both of Topeka, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one sister, Maxine Hill of Joplin, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arthur and his sister, Rosa.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Friday. Private inurnment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
