Wilbur Dean Stettnisch, 83, Barnes, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook.
He was born March 23, 1924 in Breman, KS, the son of FrancisWesley and Grace Imogene (Vogler) Stettnisch.
He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic for Trans World Airlines in Kansas City for 36 years, retiring in 1986.
He was known for his gardening abilities and loved to tinker. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandson, Cameron.
Wilbur married Lottie Ferraer in 1960. They later divorced. Survivors include daughters; Sherri Stettnisch and Diana Stettnisch, both of Topeka; step-son, Charles Rosas and wife, Mary Ann, Kansas City, MO; grandson, Cameron David Ingram; four step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; sister, Imogene Wolfe, Leonardville; niece, Norma Jean Davis, Overland Park; and nephew, Ron Davis, Ellsworth.
