Wendy Elizabeth Sellards, 52, of Topeka, passed away February 14, 2012.
She was born January 17, 1960 in Topeka, the daughter of James E. & Joanna (Fisher) Sellards.
She was a graduate of Topeka High School and attended Washurn University and Kansas University, studying music. She sang in the choruses of all three schools and had a passion for singing.
Wendy was employed by Counselman Chiropractic, Ed Bozarth Chevrolet and was a bartender for Steak & Ale and made many friends through her employment.
Survivors include her mother, Joann Sellards; a sister, Jennifer (Randy) Johnson; two nieces, Sara and Sayla McKinley; a great-niece, Emmy McKinley; an aunt, Jennie Mellinger; other survivors include, her fiancé, Mel Drybread, who was a string bass player with Andy Williams in Branson for over 14 years and toured worldwide with him. Wendy and Mel had been engaged for a year and planned on being married.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Sellards, whom she loved dearly and was a very talented trumpet player; and her grandmother, Judith Ann Fisher.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
