6.b. Parents: John Wardie and Pearl Burnett Davis

7. Background: Mr. Davis was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving from August 18, 1942 through January 6,
1946. He was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge Conflict. He then farmed in Osage County in the Melvern
Community. He came to Topeka in 1952. He was then employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for 25 years before
retiring in 1974 due to a medical disability. He was a member of the Crestview United Methodist Church, the
Brotherhood of Railway Workers, Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion and the Prime Timers Bowling
League at Gage Center Bowl.




8. Relatives: Married to: Helen Boudreaux Waters in 1943. They were divorced.
Ellie Wycoff in 1965. She survives.

Church.

11. Visitation times, place: Mr. Davis will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town
Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Friday.

Topeka, Ks. 66614.
