Wanda May Quiett

June 21, 1946 — November 22, 2024

Topeka

Wanda Quiett, aged 78, of Topeka, Kansas, peacefully departed this world on Friday, November 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories.

Born on June 21, 1946, in Topeka, Wanda was the beloved daughter of Marvin and Dora (Schuette) Halderman.

Throughout her life, she embraced her passions with an unwavering spirit. As a devoted fan of Halderman’s Racing, she could often be found cheering with enthusiasm, especially for her race car #178, a symbol of her passion for both her family and the sport.

Wanda dedicated over 35 years to nurturing young minds in daycare, a role that showcased her caring nature and commitment to others. Wanda's love of bowling took her on adventures across the United States, where she proudly competed, including at the national level, exemplifying her spirited nature. Beyond the lanes, she found joy in the pages of romance novels, immersing herself in tales of love and adventure.

However, despite all of these things, it was her family who held the deepest place in her heart. Wanda was a constant presence at every sporting event, braving the elements—rain, snow, or sleet—to lend her voice of encouragement, she was the embodiment of unconditional love and support. Some of her fondest moments were spent hunting alongside her family and enjoying camping trips to Valley Falls, where laughter and togetherness thrived. Wanda’s nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Wanda is survived by her two sons, Troy Robert Quiett and Galen Ray Quiett; her granddaughter, Melissa (Brian) Dawn Inloes; as well as her great-grandsons: Brennan, Zachary, Everett, and Ehren Inloes. She also leaves behind her brother, Paul (Rita) Halderman, and sister, Jean Boger. She was preceded in death by her treasured daughter, Robin Chapman, along with her parents, Marvin and Dora Halderman, and several beloved siblings Judy (Garland) Allan, Beverly (Marvin) Lister, and Alice Summer.

A Funeral Ceremony to honor Wanda's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Penwell-Gabel - Mid-Town Chapel, located at 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. A private family burial will be held at Rochester Cemetery at a later date.
