Wanda A. Cusick, 82, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006.
She was born September 24, 1923 in Eskridge, KS, the daughter of Cloise and Freda Meeker. She graduated from Eskridge High School.
Wanda was united in marriage to George Cusick. He preceded her in death. Together they made their home in Wilsey and Ellinwood where George taught in the high school and at Barton County Community Junior College. Wanda ran a day care in her home for many years.
Being a dedicated wife, mother, and friend; Wanda will always be remembered for her selfless and caring for others in need.
Survivors include: her son Michael Cusick and his wife, Kami, their twin sons, Ian Michael and Miles Joseph Cusick; her daughter Jo McKinley and her husband, Steve, their children, Bryan and Stephanie "Stevie" McKinley; brother in law, Wayne Johnston; niece, Vickie Wheeler and her husband Don, their two sons, Brad and Michael; nephew, Steve Johnston and his wife Janet, and their children Jill, Megan, and Ashley; niece, Lynn Jacobson and her husband Roy; and niece, Pat Reedy and her husband Glen.
Wanda's only sister and best friend, Phyllis Johnston, also preceded Wanda in death.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Heart of America Hospice and especially to the wonderful loving care Wanda received at Plaza West.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 24th at Eskridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be given to the George Cusick Scholarship Fund, c/o Barton County Community College Foundation, 245 NE 30 Road, Great Bend, KS 67530-9283.
