Walter N. Scott, Jr., 83, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at Legend at Capital Ridge, on Saturday, August 9, 2014.
Walter Newton Scott, Jr. was born October 27, 1930, in Topeka, son of Walter N. Scott, Sr. and Agnes S. Scott. He graduated from Seneca High School, Washburn University, and the Washburn University School of Law.
Walter served as an Officer in the US Air Force from 1952-1955.
He was a member of the Kansas Bar Association for 50 years, and was past president of the Topeka Bar Association. Walter had a private practice in Topeka for many years.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Scott Anderson, and her husband, Mark, of Monument, CO, and their children, Emily, Abigail, and Evan; Walter N. (Sam) Scott, III, Broken Arrow, OK, and his children, Walter N. Scott, IV, and Robert Scott; Carol Steves, of Topeka, and her daughter, Sarah; Todd Scott, and his wife, Kim, of Kansas City, MO, and their children, Teryn and Trevor; and Susan Jones, and her children, Rolley, Casey, Christopher, and Spencer; and two sisters, Peggy Kimbrough, Topeka, and Sylvia Foreman, San Clemente, CA.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. A reception will follow from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Topeka Country Club, Topeka.
Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Lynn Creek Cemetery, Berryton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a hospice of the donor's choice.
