Walter O. Bowman,79, of Topeka, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at a Topeka hospital.
He was born September 27, 1925 in Madison, Wisconsin to Ole Bowman and Ruby Marken Bowman.
At the age of 4, his parents died and he was brought to Harveyville to be raised by his grandmother.
Mr. Bowman graduated from Harveyville High School and entered the Navy in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Archery Club and Crestview United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and archery.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jessie, and a daughter Linda Seaman of Eugene, Oregon.
Other survivors include two granddaughters, Kim Full of Moline, Kansas and Melanie Deptuch of Eugene, Oregon, Five great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at the Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 S.W. Eveningside Drive, Topeka on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation will follow. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
