W. Jean Tripp

W. Jean Tripp, 82, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007. She was born on July 15, 1925, the daughter of Otis and Ada (Moore) Avery.

Jean graduated from Clay County Community High School. She has been a resident of Topeka since 1946. Jean worked as a Supervisor for Security Benefit Group of Companies for 17 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of; American Legion Auxiliary Capitol Post #1; Ladies of the Arab Shrine; Ladies of the Moose Lodge North Topeka; the Red Hat Society and a member of Oakland Christian Church.

Jean married Earl LeRoy on August 16, 1944 in Clay Center. He preceded her in death in January 1999. From this union was born two sons: Ronald E. Tripp of Lecompton, KS and Donald R. and wife, Margie Tripp of Mission, KS. They survive.

Other survivors include sister-in-law, Betty Sharp, Clay Center, KS; brother-in-law Henry and wife, Louise Tripp of Glendora, CA and two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Cremation is planned. Inurnment services will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS at a later date. .

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children in c/o Arab Shrine, 1305 Kansas, Topeka, KS 66612.
