W.H. "Bill" Craft, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on April 21, 1923 in Evans, LA, the son of Jackson L. and Ellen M. Wilson Craft. He had resided in Leesville, LA until 1946 when he moved to Topeka. He owned and operated Craft & Son until retiring in 1985. He later went to work for Wal-Mart in 1995.
Bill married Elizabeth M. Moore on June 7, 1944 in Hornbeck, LA. She preceded him in death on December 8, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his six sisters, Lucille, Ruby, Helen, Myrtle, Mattie and Melba. Survivors include his children; Evelyn Davis, Ada Winingar, James Craft, Thomas Craft all of Topeka and Cindy Cannon of Tega Cay, SC., 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
