Vivian H. Parr, 89, of Lawrence, formerly of Baldwin City and Rossville, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012.
She was born December 8, 1922 in Hoyt, Kansas, the daughter of George and Mayme (Cox) Tolin. She was a graduate of Hoyt High School in 1940. She attended Strickler's Business College in Topeka.
Mrs. Parr was employed by Kansas Power and Light in Topeka and later worked for Silver Lake State Bank from 1971, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church.
Vivian married Duane I. Parr on December 20, 1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2006. Survivors include a son, J.D. Parr and his wife Nancy, Baldwin City, KS; a daughter, Patti Wilmoth and her husband John, Sanger, TX; her grandchildren, Annie Parr Ammons and her husband, Trey of Overland Park, Ellie Parr of Baldwin City, Laura Wilmoth of Lewisville, TX and Kathryn Wilmoth of Denton, TX; a sister, Ferne Morse of Topeka and a sister-in-law, Mary Tolin of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Williamson; two brothers, Joyce and Gerald Tolin.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Rossville Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
