Vivian Fletcher

Vivian Ione Fletcher, 83, Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at a local care center.

Ione was born October 15, 1925, in Wetmore, the daughter of Ed and Ina E. (Hawley) Wittenbach. She graduated Valedictorian from Wetmore High School in 1943.

She was Secretary/Treasurer of H.D. Fletcher Roofing Company for 50 years, retiring in 1996.

Ione was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included bridge, bowling and square dancing.

Ione married Harold Fletcher on November 21, 1946, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2008. Survivors include daughter Cindy (Dan) Adams; son, Darrin Fletcher, all of Topeka; grandchildren, Dallas & Kacy Adams and Garrett Fletcher; brothers, Melvin Wittenbach, Edwin Wittenbach; and sisters, Opal Bryant, Donna McCulley and Lola Stattelman. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Fletcher.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wed., Aug. 12, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Fletcher will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tues. with visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
