Virginia Arnold Zelman, age 96, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at a hospital in Topeka KS.
She was born June 10, 1910 at Altoona PA, the daughter of Philip Ralph and Elizabeth Brush Arnold. She was a graduate of the University of Kansas, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.
She lived in Chanute KS from 1923 to 1978 and in Topeka KS thereafter. She was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church, Topeka Nucomers, AAUW, and a number of bridge groups.
She was married to Kenneth Guy Horton of Chanute KS from 1945 until his death in 1970, and to Dr. Samuel Zelman of Topeka KS since 1980. A son, Dr. William Arnold Horton of Portland OR, and a grandson Joshua Brian Horton of Baltimore MD, also survive.

A celebration of life reception has been scheduled for Virginia Zelman of Topeka, who died on December 2nd. The reception will take place on January 20th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Atria Hearthstone Senior Living, located at 3515 SW 6th Avenue in Topeka. She was married to Kenneth Horton of Chanute, KS from 1945 until his death in 1970 and to Samuel Zelman of Topeka, KS since 1980. The reception is being hosted by William and Jean Horton of Portland, OR and Joshua Horton of Baltimore, MD, VIrginia's son, daughter-in-law and grandson. All friends are invited to attend.
