Virginia Swanson

Mrs. Virginia Mae Swanson, 80 of Topeka passed away Friday October 11, 2002 in a local hospital. She was born in Taloga, OK to Archibald and Charlotte Green Paul on April 2, 1922.

Mrs. Swanson grew up in Randall, KS, graduated from Scandia High School in Scandia, KS. She worked for over 30 years for The Menniger Foundation, as an appointment secretary. After retiring, she was a volunteer for Stormont-Vail Hospital and enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Swanson was a member of Northland Christian Church, N.C.H.A. , Local Chapter "Topeks", Eastern Star, Medical Assistants Assocation and Stormont-Vail Aux.

On March 4, 1943 in Topeka, she married Bernard E. "Bud" Swanson, he passed away January 20, 1989.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Sue N. Nelson of Topeka, KS
Paula Brubaker of Topeka, KS
1 son: Greg Swanson of Liberal, KS
Grandchildren 6

Mrs. Swanson will lie in state on Sunday, October 13, 2002 beginning at 1:00pm, the family will receive friends from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be in Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel on Monday, October 14, 2002 at 1:00pm, interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
