Miss Virginia Lou Shields, 91, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in her home at Aldersgate Village. Miss Shields was born September 28, 1920 in Topeka, the daughter of Bess Heathman Shields and William Harold Shields. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1938 and was a long-time Santa Fe employee, having retired in 1982. Miss Shields was a member of First United Methodist Church. No immediate family members survive. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village. Private inurnment will be in Topeka Cemetery.
