Virginia E. Moore

Virginia E. Moore, 98, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Lexington Park.

She was born February 28, 1923, in Seneca, Kansas, the daughter of Claude and Ada (Gaston) Rucker. She graduated from Seneca High School 1941. After graduation, she attended Clark's School of Business in Topeka.

Virginia married Duane Moore on November 21, 1943 in Seneca, Kansas.

Virginia was employed by the Edson, Lewis, Porter, Haynes Law Firm for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a charter member of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

She was very active in her bowling league, bridge group and bunko group.

Survivors include her children, Karen (Norm) Turnbull, Marsha (Jim Fox) Moore and Bob (Kennetta) Moore; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Deanna and Amy; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Moore, on October 18, 1995. Virginia was preceded in death also by her siblings, William H. Rucker, Kathryn Olberding, Norma Kennon and Marion Lierz.

A Graveside Service will be 11:00 am., Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th , Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, Inc. PO Box 8350, Topeka, KS 66608-0350 or Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
