Virginia Lee Young, 76, of Topeka, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at her home with her beloved cats, Josie, Missy, Charley, and one grandcat, Penny Lane.
She was born December 20, 1930 in Crete, NE, the daughter of Butch and Laura Stahn. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1948.
Virginia married Richard "Pooley" Young on June 3rd, 1950. He preceded her in death.
Before she became a homemaker, she worked as a legal secretary and was a volunteer for the Red Cross.
Virginia is survived by her four daughters, Kay and husband, Roger Killian, Carol L. Appelhanz, Susan Mather, and Jill and husband, Jim Toy; six grandchildren, Neil Killian, Jeff Killian, Erik Snow, Elaine Appelhanz, Austin Toy, and Amber Toy; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Stahn of Tucson, AZ and sister Carole Carruthers of Picton, ON, Canada; brother-in-law, Larry Young of Junction City, KS; and fourteen grandpets.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, KS.
