Virginia L. Marshall

August 1, 1929 — June 11, 2016

Virginia L. Marshall, 86, of Lenexa, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at a Kansas City, MO hospital. She was born August 1, 1929 in Reading Township, Ohio, the daughter of John W. and Cecelia (Litzinger) Spencer.

Virginia was employed by Jostens Yearbook Company.

Virginia was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Philip Billard Post No. 1650 Auxiliary and Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Virginia married Marvin G. Marshall on November 29, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her 7 siblings. Survivors include one son Chris (Tess) Marshall, one daughter, Amy (Randy) Dillon, 5 grandchildren, Caitlin, Jordan, Marisa (JP), Ashtin and Hannah, 2 great-grandchildren, Paul and Breckin and one sister, Betty Cannon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Virginia will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
