Virginia Katherine Crago, 90, of Topeka, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at her home in McCrite Plaza Retirement Community.
She was born October 7, 1923 in Santa Rosa, NM, the only child of Thomas F. and Opal M. (Lotton) Ellis.
Virginia married Paul H. Crago on September 9, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage on June 20, 2008.
She was a longtime member of Oakland United Methodist Church and Oakland Rebekah Lodge #616 where she served as Grand Noble in 1968.
Survivors include son, Danny Crago; daughter, Sherry (Ken) Burgen; grandchildren, Lisa Cooper, Doug Rake, Brad (Brandy) Crago, Kevin (Dawn) Rake, Michael (Kandice) Crago; and great-grandchildren, Tierra, Zach, Kourtnie, Jacob, Kyra, Trenton, Ashton, Malanea, Rylan and Karley all of Topeka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Virginia will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Cat Association of Topeka, 1719 SW Gage, Topeka, KS 66604.
