Virginia I. Tuttle, 89, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 at McCrite Plaza. She was born August 30, 1920 in DeRidder, Louisiana; the daughter of Lowry and Laura Bahnmaier Girvin.
Virginia graduated from Topeka High School in 1938 and attended Dodds Business College in Topeka.
She was a member of the Topeka Civic Nucomers Club since 1983 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. since 1958. She was a Welcome Wagon Hostess for 10 years, and was a Brownie/Girl Scout Leader for 4 years.
She married Harold James Tuttle, September 26, 1946. He preceded her in death February 26, 1991. Survivors include daughter Diane Tuttle Perine, Lopez Island, WA; one granddaughter, Dena Loring Perine, Atlanta, GA; and five great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will be in the Mount Hope Mausoleum. Mrs. Tuttle will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
