Virginia L. Holmes, of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010.
She was born January 19, 1929 in Leavenworth. She graduated from Leavenworth High School.
She was a member of Highland Heights Christian Church.
Virginia married Gerald Holmes in 1954. He died July 8, 2004.
Survivors include daughters, Angie (Don) Barnes, Topeka; Sandy (Wade) Colvin, Weatherford, TX; son, Ron (Denise) Holmes, Kaufman, TX ; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma (David) Jones, Bonner Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday August 9th, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at West Lawn Gardens. Virginia will lie in state on Sunday after 3:00 PM. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Heights Christian Church or Gideon's International.
