OBITUARY: Virgil Raymond Ohse
Virgil Raymond Ohse, 83, Topeka, died Fri., Aug. 13, 2010, at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Odessa, MO, the son of O.F. and Leona B. (Roehrs) Ohse. He went to high school in Falls City, NE, and received a Master's Degree in Business from the University of Kansas. He had been Vice-President at Ohse Meats and retired from UBS. He was a member of the Cosmo Club and had been active in Topeka Civic Theatre. Virgil was married to Patricia Meyer and to this union three children were born, Kerri-Lynne, David, and Janna. They later divorced. He was married to Maxine Kohner who preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 1995. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law: David W. and Susan Ohse of Topeka; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Kerri-Lynne and Myron "Mike" Pangman of Weinheim, Germany and Janna Oren of Evergreen, CO; a step-daughter: Lisa Ambrose of Charlotte, NC; a step-son: Brian Ohse of Tulsa, OK; a brother: David E. Ohse of Topeka; and 10 grandchildren: Christopher Pangman, Geoff Pangman (Nar), Becky Pangman, Andrew Oren, Cassie Oren, Miles Oren, Melissa Oren, Lisbeth White (Seth), Lindsay Ohse, and Annalise Ohse. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tues., Aug. 17, 2010, at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment in Mount Hope Mausoleum. Virgil will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW Tenth, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
