Violet L. Wallace, 70, of Carbondale, passed away Tuesday, September 6 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born December 25, 1934 in Topeka, the daughter of Roy M. and Marie E. Clark Peavler.
She was a 1952 graduate of Highland Park High School. She worked at various jobs and retired from Josten's Printing and Publishing after 25 years of service. She was an avid doll collector and was fond of little dogs. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She married Don O."Sam" Wallace on February 24, 1955 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her sister Freda Worsley and two infant brothers.
Survivors include three sisters Fonda Peavler and Wilma May, both of Carbondale and Elvira Abrams of Silver Lake; many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wallace will lie in state after 1:00 pm Thursday, September 8 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday September 9 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Carbondale Cemetery.
