Viola Combs

Viola M. Combs, 70, Topeka, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007. She was born on August 28, 1936 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Arthur and Winnie (Fortner) King.

Viola graduated from Topeka High School. She worked as a clerk for 7/C Best Western Moteland as a cashier for J.M. Bauersfeld's and Dillon's. She retired in 2005. After retirement she enjoyed traveling and playing bingo.

She married Bobby Combs on July 2, 1976. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her mother Winnie; brother, Richard; father, Arthur; brother, Robert and her grandson, Kenneth.

Survivors include her brothers, Clifford King; Arthur King; sons, Robert and Richard Priest; three daughters, Kathryn, Debra, and Barbara and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Viola will lie in-state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
