Viola Wilson Beadleston, 94, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
She was born August 27, 1927, in rural Chapman, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Moyer) Wilson. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1945.
Viola was the secretary at Crestview United Methodist Church for 25 years. She later worked as a medical secretary at the Rehabilitation Center for the Blind with the state of Kansas, retiring in May 1990 after 11 years. After retirement, she worked part-time with the Kansas Legislature until 1995.
Mrs. Beadleston was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Strato Jets Square Dance Club and Kansas Square Dance Association, where she served as second vice-president and historian. After retirement, she enjoyed her summers at the Colorado cabin that she and her husband built.
Viola married Keith E. Beadleston on December 15, 1946 in Abilene, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1978.
Survivors include her children, Donnis Beadleston; Kevin Beadleston; and Karen (Steve) Kraus; sister, Chrystal Kerr; half-sister, Phyllis Yost five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Memorial service will be 2pm, Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th, Topeka. Private inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
