Victor E. Reinking, M.D., 78, Topeka, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at Midland Hospice. He was born June 28, 1926 in Tescott, Kansas, the son of Horace J. and Esther (Swart) Reinking. Victor graduated from Weymouth High School in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He graduated from the Univ. of Kansas in 1949 and KU Medical School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He received his internal medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. He joined the Topeka Medical Center in 1958, started private practice in 1981, retiring in 1994. Victor was a member of A.M.A, Kansas Medical Society, Shawnee County Medical Society and Crestview United Methodist Church. Victor married Virginia L. Shimer June 19, 1949 in Topeka, KS. Survivors include his wife, Virginia, two daughters, Alice Swanson and Annie Wilcox, both of Topeka; a son, Steven Reinking, Portland, OR; a sister, Esther Graves, Lawrence, KS; and seven grandchildren, Jason Reinking, Justin Reinking, Nick Reinking, Britt Trier, Casey Swanson, Cooper Swanson and Atticus Wilcox. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Dr. Reinking will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt.
