Vesta Burbridge

Vesta S. Burbridge, 92, Topeka, formerly of Troy, Kansas, died December 6, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born on December 15, 1916, to Collins and Rena Rapp Schuler, near Wathena, Kansas. Following her graduation, she married Francis Burbridge and they settled in Troy. A homemaker, she was an active member of the Troy United Methodist Church and numerous other local organizations. After her husband's death, she moved to Topeka and became an active resident in the Martin Creek Retirement Community in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Burbridge, Topeka; grandson Brian (Amanda) Burbridge, Allen, Texas; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard, and sister M. Maxine Bembrick.
Mrs. Burbridge has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Troy United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
