Vernadine Stone

Vernadine "Vernie" Arline Reich Stone passed away on March 9, 2013, at Brewster Place Health Care. She was born May 11, 1922 in Topeka, Kansas, daughter of John Harvey Reich and Selma Meyer Reich. Vernie attended Topeka public schools and graduated from Topeka High School. She married Harry Franklin Stone on July 26, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1982. Vernie has been a resident of the Brewster Place community since 2002 and was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Wayne Stone of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter; and one great granddaughter, both of St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Rae Stone in October 2001.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, in the Fink Living Room at Brewster Place Health Care Center. Vernie will be buried beside her husband in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is handling arrangements.
