Reverend Verle G. Nincehelser, 90, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord, January 3, 2005. He was born July 19, 1914 in Haggerman, NM, to George and Hattie Reed Nincehelser. He moved to Hope, KS at an early age and graduated from Hope High School.
He married Eunice Haldemen, she is deceased. He later married Ruth Thompson, she is also deceased.
He worked for Sears and Wards and later attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. Rev. Nincehelser started his first church at Muddy Creek, KS and later was pastor at Winifred Baptist Church in Winifred, KS. He started Highland Crest Baptist Church in Topeka in 1954. He retired in 1975. He worked for the State of Kansas Computer Service for three years.
He married Ethel Perkins in 1976. She survives. Survivors include three sons; Nealan Nincehelser of Marysville, KS; Joel Nincehelser of Lakeland, TX; Kevin Perkins of Topeka; Two daughters: Karen Boersman of Naperville, IL and Delpha Hart of Topeka; two brothers: Olan Nincehelser of Fort Smith, AR and Merlin Nincehelser of Auburn, NE; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 SW Gage, Topeka. Reverend Nincehelser will lie in state after 12:00, noon on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel and visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
