Vera M. Streeter

Vera Mae (Wolf) Streeter, 86, of Topeka passed away Friday, June 16, 2023. Vera was born February 2, 1937, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Anthony and Amelia (Dechant) Wolf. Her family moved to a farm in Graham County in 1945 and then moved back to Hays sometime later. Vera graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Hays in 1955. After graduating, Vera and her sister Millie left Hays in 1957 and moved to Topeka to meet new people. Vera met her future husband Richard at a local dance hall. Richard and Vera were married in Topeka on August 30, 1958. Vera worked in a jewelry store and then spent many years working at the former Jostens American Yearbook company before retiring. Vera was active in her children's school activities, serving as room mom, member of the PTO and many other activities. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Richard in Dec 2010. Vera had eight siblings and was preceded in death by her brothers Leven and Allen Wolf, and her sisters Lorraine and Esther Wolf. Vera is survived by her brother Leon Wolf of Hays and her sisters Mildred Lusk of Huntsville, AL; Mary Kathleen of Wichita, KS; and Geraldine of Wichita, KS. Vera is survived by her four children Barry Gene (Dolly) Streeter, Chesterfield, MO; Troy Lynn Streeter, Columbia, MO; Stacey Lee Streeter (Kansas City, KS); Kelly Dean (Michele) Streeter, Salina, KS; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Vera's family will greet friends and relatives from 9:30am-10:30am on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka. A graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
